The Neighbourhood (Latitude 31.463064386° Longitude 34.414648751° elev 770.02 m)
The Neighbourhood (Latitude 31.463064386°...) (2025) are 3 still satellite images of the same neighbourood in 2017, 2022 and November 2024.
Each projected image is meant to be viewed separately and sequentially as the viewer moves through the gallery (so placement within the space is important.)
The final or 4th iteration, with the same dimensions is, instead of an image, a black void that subtly reflects back into the gallery (utilizing a piece
of black glass embedded into a void in an interior wall). The dimensions are variable.
An alternative install, can be cast sequentially onto a simple cube, with a cutout serving as an interior void into which the black glass is installed.
A version of this work also exists on Google Earth to be stumbled upon: it remains up as of this writing. Just enter the coordinates provided in the title of
the work to navigate to the neighbourhood. It represtents countless neirbourhoods who have suffered the same hegemonic sociopathy over centuries.
In this context, The Neighbourhood (Latitude 31.463064386° Longitude 34.414648751° elev 770.02 m) functions as a Shadow Work, the series of Google Earth/Google Maps
interventions of that Bowie continues serializing (since 2011).
