Witness (The War in The Woods in Tla-o-qui-aht (Clayoquot)(1993) is a series of photographs documentating the group meetings of participants, protestors, arrests and camp supporters in 1992 to 93 culminating in The War in the Woods : the 1993 Protests to save ancient forests from clear cutting on the unceded territory of the aaḥuusʔatḥ(Ahousaht), hišqʷiʔatḥ(Hesquiaht) and ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ nuučaanułatḥ (Nuu-chah-nulth Nations).
The weight of living things (biomass and carbon sink) on the West Coast is the biggest biomass on the planet, greater than the weight in the Amazon, because of the weight of the massive, ancient tree relatives.
